Investing In?Hope
July 26, 2011
On the way home from work today I stopped at the store. ?I?m pretty broke til payday, but had a couple bucks in my pocket and decided to buy a lottery ticket. ?I know that my chances of winning are beyond slim (understatement of the year) but thats not really the point.
The point is that from the moment I bought a piece of my mind was transported to a happy place planning for that ?what if?. ?A place where student loans get paid off before I?m 90 and traveling isn?t a pipe-dream. And I?m not greedy I don?t need to win the huge jackpot even a small winnings would be great and always in my daydream I share with family and friends.
I know there are those who say I should have spent my couple of bucks better. ?But I had a bad day and honestly it was either going to be an ice cream sundae, booze, or the lottery ticket. ?The lottery ticket was actually the cheapest choice and despite knowing the odds are against me it gives me some hope, even if it is short lived.
Now back to my daydreams?
